Do you want the REAL Jesus or the counterfeit?

Do you want the real Jesus that calls you to take up your cross or do you want the counterfeit Jesus that makes you feel good about sitting in your sin?

We are all in different seasons of faith, I have been in the Christian while still living in the selfishness of my sin.

Thankfully I am continuing to dig into the Word and being reminded that I am merely a speck of dust on this earth.

I have come to realize how important it is to seek Christ in all things, not just for my own benefit but because the world is watching -- and they often get shown the counterfeit Jesus which leads them to paint all followers of Christ with the same counterfeit paint brush.

There are so many different avenues that people take to try and find peace and happiness in their life, how many of them lead to authentic whole hearted joy?

There was a time when I assumed that having Jesus meant life would be easier, that I wouldn’t have to experience pain and heartache and when it didn’t turn out that way, I became angry with God.

The Bible doesn’t say life is going to be easy. It warns that you will face hardship, persecution, that people will slander you - but you are to take up you cross and follow Jesus, you are to seek a righteous life, following his way so that when people try to condemn you there will be nothing to condemn.

I enjoy learning more about who God is, and why he cares for us. I find the best place to learn about him is in his word - the living breathing Bible.

If you want to learn how to determine the real vs counterfeit Jesus - I encourage you to go to the Bible - because there is where you will find the REAL Jesus. I’m just another human trying to figure this stuff out just like you. Don’t blindly rely on mere humans to guide you to Jesus. You’ve been given the ability to seek him yourself, he has invited you to himself. We can learn from each other but we should never place a human between us and our relationship with Christ.

Go to him. He's waiting for you in the Word.

And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

Luke 9:23

If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they keep my word, they will also keep yours.

John 15:19–20

“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and one's foes will be members of one's own household”

Matthew 10:34-36

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Psalm 119:105

Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation

1 Peter 2:12
